Glen Meadows HOA Is Now Glen Meadows NA

Going forward, the name of the association that represents Glen Meadows is the “Glen Meadows Neighborhood Association” (GMNA). Following is an excerpt from the City of Plano’s website that explains the definition of a Neighborhood Association. This is most reflective of what we do and represent.

What is a Neighborhood Association?

A neighborhood association is a voluntary association of homeowners...who work together to improve and maintain the quality of life in their neighborhood.
• Membership is open to all residents, participation is optional, dues are voluntary.
• The association determines its boundaries.
• There is no legal authority to enact or enforce maintenance or design requirements beyond those established by city ordinance.
• To ensure a visibly democratic process, the organization has bylaws that provide for at least one general membership meeting each year and require the annual election of officers.
• Association position statements are reached through consensus.

Membership

Although membership in the GMNA is voluntary membership dues are imperative to keep our neighborhood maintained properly (80% of funds go solely to the maintenance of our entrances). We trust Glen Meadows residents understand and appreciate this and will actively participate.

Goals

The Goals of the Glen Meadows Neighborhood Association are simple:
• Be the central point of contact between the neighbors of Glen Meadows and the City of Plano to ensure we are contacted about concerns such as crime bulletins, compliance issues and any other relevant information affecting our neighborhood, and share these communications to neighbors in a timely manner.
• Maintain beautiful, vibrant and healthy neighborhood entrances.
• Solicit membership, dues and volunteer participation.
• Support and advertise neighborhood events and encourage community spirit.

Communication

Each February, the GMNA hosts its annual meeting and all neighbors are invited to attend. These meetings are posted beforehand at each neighborhood entrance, on our website (www.glen-meadows.com) and in our quarterly newsletter. At these meetings, the prior year’s budget and the proposed budget are distributed and reviewed; accomplishments are shared; officers are nominated, votes are cast and elections are made; proposed new projects are presented; and then the floor is turned over to the neighbors in attendance.

GMNA contact information is on our website and in our quarterly newsletter, The Meadowlark, which is delivered to your door. Our next endeavor is to maintain GMNA member e-mail addresses to forward information and notifications - most importantly crime watch bulletins - to be sent as a “bcc” to respect your privacy.

Glen Meadows is a well-respected and highly desired neighborhood in which to live. We strive to maintain these standards on everyone’s behalf. Please contact any member of your Glen Meadows Neighborhood Association board with questions or concerns.
